Ottawa’s Bytown Blues Rugby club had another successful weekend on the field this weekend and walked away with 3 victories, a tie and an unfortunate loss.

While the Blues 1st XV lost 12-17 to RCM from Montreal in a match where an RCM player eye gouged a Blue. Unfortunately, the ref missed that play and the player escaped without penalty. The 2nd XV were in the process of destroying RCM 2nds 45-3 when the Rouge squad walked off the field with nearly a full half to go.

The Blues 3rds played a very tough and large Brockville squad who were not only great competitors in the field but were great in the pub post game. Blues won 45-31 with a hat trick of tries recorded by Mike Adibe.

On Sunday, the central Ottawa based Bytown Blues rugby club’s u16 and U18 juniors travelled to Brockville and played two spirited matches that resulted in a 11-0 u16 victory for the Blues u16s while the U18s tied 22-22 with the always tough Brockville squad.

Approximately 30 members of the Bytown Blues rugby club will be playing for the Eastern Ontaio Rugby Union’s u16 and u18 squads in next weekend’s Eastern Canadian Rugby Championship in Truro, Nova Scotia.
