Bytown Blues Update September 20th 2016

Posted on: September 20th, 2016 by Ryan Surgenor

Blues Fall in the Super League Finals

After a spirited and groundbreaking season for our club, it ended in a 20-19 loss to the champions, Ste-Anne de Bellevue RFC in a swampy day in Ste-Julie. Blues took a coach bus up to the other side of montreal to try and put Ottawa on the map for the EORU.

Blues wish to congratulate Ste-Annes on a fantastic, hard fought game.

Fall Training Schedule

Due to the natural fact that the sun is going down earlier, we are losing light at Canterbury High School, and are moving training to Algonquin College. LOCATED HERE

Training:

  • Tuesday 2100-2230
  • Thursday 2100-2230

Waterloo Forfeit McCormick Cup Game

Do to lack of numbers Waterloo County RFC has forfeited their 1st round McCormick cup game vs the Bytown Blues. This is the second year in a row that the 8th place Marshall Premiership team has forfeited to the Bytown Blues. With this default 20-0 win the blues move on to the championship side of the double elimination table. Next week we have the following two possibilities depending on who wins the Ajax vs Brantford game on the weekend

Brantford win:

  • Blues head down to Brantford to play at 3pm south of Toronto

Ajax win:

  • Ajax comes up to Ottawa to play the blues at 3pm at Twin Elm Rugby Park

As per usual if you have any questions or want to provide additional information feel free to email us at info@bytownbluesrugby.ca.

Comms Team out.
