John Shaw and U20 Adventures
The Junior world trophy is under way in Portugal. The Canada U20 team faced Namibia this morning and came away with a 35-20 victory over the small African nation at the Estadio Universitario in Lisbon, Portugal. No Box score has been released yet but its a good bet that Bytown Blues own John Shaw was just a monster on the pitch.
Their schedule for the pool round is as follows:
May 12 – Canada 35 – 20 Namibia
May 16 vs. Hong Kong – 3 p.m. local time (7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET)
May 20 vs. Tonga – 7 p.m. local time (11 a.m. PT/2 p.m. ET)
All games can be streamed live at http://www.fpr.pt/
Bytown Blues vs Ste-Anne’s Game Report
The Blues took the bus to John Abbot College to face off against perspective Super league opponent Ste-Anne’s RFC. On what was supposed to be a wet rainy day turned in to an absolute scorcher, with the turf field adding to the amount of heat exposed to the players. Results were as follows:
2XV: 10-19 Loss.
1XV: 29-24 Victory.
No game this week at this moment.
I will update this section if we get another exhibition game for this week.
See you all out on the pitch this week at training.
