Bytown Blues Update for March 24th 2015

Hey Blues, Exciting stuff over the weekend with the 6 Nations thrilling finish and some excellent Super 15 clashes. Enough about other people and now moving on to us, regular schedule is resumed with Senior men training starting at 6pm sharp and one hour of touch afterwards.

Training time this week are as follows:

Juniors:

  • Time: Saturday 18:00-20:00
  • Location: Lees Campus Dome “200 Lees Avenue Ottawa Ont. K1S 5S9″

Senior Men: (10$ drop in fee)

  • Time: Saturday 17:55-19:00
  • Location: Lees Dome.

Club: CSAD Training (open to all club members)

  • Time: Monday 18:00-19:00
  • CSAD Gym: “Unit 1, 1665 Russell Rd, Ottawa, Ontario, K1G 4B8″

Registration Hints:

If you use Google’s “Chrome” browser (and should work with most modern browsers)

When entering your child’s information, or parental info, go to the “last name” text box
on the page, and enter it first. The browser should then auto-fill the other fields on the page (address,
province, etc…), provided you have allowed the browser to save form data.

If it does not bring up the info, you will have to fill out the data yourself.

Canada places 3rd at Pacific Rugby Challenge

Canada’s best domestic player, playing as Canada ‘A’ finished their almost typhoon ridden exhibition series against Pacific nations team in Fiji this past week. Beating out Samoa ‘A’ in the final game, 28 – 26. Hats off to the boys on scoring in the last minute and beating the Samoan side that they lost to previously in the tournament.  Rugby Canada’s full write up can be seen HERE.


John Shaw and his action with Canada U20

Just on Monday Bytown Blues own John Shaw started for Canada U20 at the hooker position. Canada U20 played USA U20 All-Americans. Behind the States for most of the game, and dealing with typical wet and messy BC weather the U20s pulled it through with a last minute kick to win the first leg of their qualifying matches 23-22.

U20 next game will be March 27th at the Westhills Stadium. Kick off at 10pm ET/7pm PT. Once again it will be streamed LIVE at www.rugbycanada.tv.


Rugby Ontario Hires Scotsman as High Performance Manager

Former Scottish Rugby union performance coach is now the High Performance Manager Of Rugby Ontario.

Well see where this goes, but i look forward to what direction this man takes RO. RO in the past has been stepping up their commitment to high quality rugby. Sending the Ontario Blues to Scotland to play a match and getting a large number of exhibition games with United States teams.
