Rugby Ontario Announces Details for 2014/2015 Junior 7’s program.

Rugby Ontario is pleased to provide details surrounding the 2014/15 Ontario Junior Provincial Sevens Program. The 2014/2015 program features six teams – U18 male, U18 female and U16 male teams located in both Central Ontario (based in Toronto) and Eastern Ontario (based in Ottawa).

All teams will be participating in the Rugby Canada National Sevens Championships in San Diego, California from Feb. 8-9, 2015 and the Las Vegas Invitational Sevens from Feb. 12-14, 2015.

Additionally, the four U18 teams will be participating in the New York Sevens on Nov. 29, 2014.

Please note: to be eligible for selection, players must be in the U17 (year of birth 1997 or 1998) or U15 (year of birth 1999 or 2000) age group in 2014.

Central Ontario

October 24 (4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
Bill Crothers Secondary School, Unionville, Ont.
U18 Men, U18 Women, U16 Men

October 26 (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
Appleby College, Oakville, Ont.
U18 Men, U18 Women

November 2 (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
Upper Canada College, Toronto, Ont. U18 Women, U16 Men

The sessions on October 24 at Bill Crothers Secondary School and October 26 at the University of Ottawa will be held in conjunction with the Rugby Canada Try4Gold Initiative. There is no cost to take part in Rugby Canada’s Try4Gold Initiative.

Please note there is a one-time $30 tryout fee for the program, which covers all tryouts. Selected players will be levied a fee to cover program costs (e.g. uniform, travel, accommodation, training sessions).

Teams will be training each weekend in November leading up to New York Sevens, then again on weekends in January to prepare for Rugby Canada National Championships and Las Vegas Invitational.
