Blues Junior Squads Defeat Kingston RFC To End Their Regular Seasons

Posted on: August 17th, 2013 by Mark Ward

Both Blues Junior squads took to the road last night and took on the Kingston Panthers, each hoping to finish off their regular seasons on a high note. Each squad also had the added incentive of potentially advancing to the Provincial Championships next weekend in Toronto.

The Blues U16s started things off with a convincing win over the Panthers. The final score was 50-10 for the Blues. This win finished off their third successive undefeated EORU season and sends them to the Provincials next weekend.

The Blues U18s followed that up with a convincing win of their own, beating the Panthers by a margin of 52-7. However, their path to the provincials is not as direct as it was for the U16s. The Blues U18s will be competing in a playoff this Sunday to determine who advances. They’ll take on the Ottawa Irish tomorrow morning in one semi-final, with Kingston and Brockville facing off in the other. The winner of the final will head to Toronto as well to compete in the Championships.

Schedule for Sunday, August 18th

  • 11:45am Blues U18 vs Irish U18 (Field 4)
  • 11;45am Kingston U18 vs Brockville U18 (Field 3)
  • 2:30pm U18’s final on Founder’s pitch!
