Two Matches Against the Ottawa Irish Highlight a Busy Saturday For The Bytown Blues

Posted on:

With a couple weeks off due to scheduling quirks and the international break, the Blues 1st XV and 2nd XV are set to join the Blues 3rd XV at Twin Elm for a full day of games this weekend. The day will kickoff at noon with the 3rds taking on the Ottawa Wolves in EORU league play. The 1sts and 2nds will follow up with games against the Ottawa Irish at 1:30 and 3:00pm respectively.

Both Blues squads are off to a hot start to the season, with one loss between them. An already intense rivalry will be even more intense as both Irish squads are off to undefeated starts to the season. Both Blues 1sts and Irish top the FRQ Division 1 table at 3-0. The Blues 2nds, with 2 wins and a loss, are four points back of the Irish in the Reserve table.

The 3rds fell to the Irish last week 50-17 in their first game of the season. They’ll be looking to get in the win column against a winless Wolves squad.
