Ottawa’s Bytown Blues Rugby Club U18s Tough Out Victory over Napanee While Short Two Players

Ottawa’s Bytown Blues U18’s went down to Napanee with an undermanned U18 Squad of 13 to play the new U18 Napanee Outlaws Team … with a very determined effort, together they achieved a come from behind victory.

The Bytown Blues U18 defeated Napanee 12 to 7 with 2 tries coming with only 12 men on the field as one of the players had to leave due to injury at the end of the 1st half.

“My hat goes off to the guys that showed up today,” stated the BluesU18 Associate Coach Kurt Dingwall. “They communicated well on the field and tackled even better to a man. Well done to the thirteen players who travelled to Napanee. They showed up and played with heart and determination and didnt let their club or their teammates down.”

With the victory against Napanee, the Bytown Blues U18s are still in the running to finish first in the EORU’s U18 league and may still earn a shot at heading to the Ontario Rugby Unions’s provincial U18 Championship in late August at Fletcher’s Fields in Markham.
