2025 President Message 2025 President
Welcome to the Bytown Blues Rugby Football Club!
Having been a part of the Blues since 1998, I've had the privilege of playing for the senior men's teams and coaching the junior girls' teams when my daughters joined. In recent years, you might have seen me officiating matches around the city, a role I've taken on to give back to the game that has given me so much. Rugby is truly one of the greatest gifts in my life.
As the newly elected president, I am honoured to lead this incredible, storied club into another exciting year of growth, competition, and camaraderie. Our club, with its proud tradition of excellence on and off the field, has achieved remarkable feats. I look forward to building upon the strong foundation laid by past leaders, players, and supporters, and to add more glorious chapters to our history.
This season, we are focused on strengthening our community, enhancing player development, and fostering a club culture that welcomes everyone. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a newcomer eager to learn the game, there's a place for you in our club. With our dedicated coaches, volunteers, and passionate members, I am confident that 2025 will be a fantastic year for the Blues.
One of the most exciting aspects of the upcoming season is the Blues' return to the Ontario Marshall Champions League. On home game days at Twin Elm, our senior men will engage in two club-on-club matches against teams from all over Ontario, promising top-notch rugby for our fans and supporters. Our vibrant alum community, parents, and other active players from our minor, junior, and senior women’s teams will be there to fill the stands and cheer on the Blues. Saturday is Rugby Day!
I encourage all members to get involved by playing, coaching, volunteering, or supporting the team from the sidelines. Together, we can continue to make the Bytown Blues a thriving and inclusive rugby family.
I'm eagerly looking forward to an amazing season ahead—see you on the pitch!
