2 Big Wins vs Montreal Wanderers

With 2 comprehensive wins vs the team that escaped relegation last year.  Bytown Blues 2XV’s got a huge 48-5 win with big games from the back line and leadership from knee surgery survivor Zenon Hrabowsky.

The 1XV finished off the day on the front pitch with a massive display of force.  Bytown Blues 1XV 55-15 win made a statement in the LPR and showed the force that we are, including a push over scrum, without the 2 Props that were on duty for Rugby Ontario.

League Table

This is the part of the update where we would show the league table, unfortunately the LRP website is not functioning at the moment. The league table should be available here: http://blog.portailrugbyquebec.com/blog2/?page_id=568

Next Game at Montreal Irish

Senior men take the first road trip of the season to the great swamp of Ste-Julie to play on the small fields on the east side on Montreal. Last year the series was split 1-1 with the Montreal Irish taking the first game at Ste-Julie and the Blues taking the return game at TERP. Both games were within 7, so should be an excellent game this weekend. Bus normally leaves from Elmvale Shopping Center at around 0900 and aims to return before 2100.

Ontario Competition Introduction Practical Evaluation Notes

A message from Rugby Ontario on the Coaching evaluations for the summer:

“At this time we are hoping to create a master list and schedule of coaches still looking to complete their evaluations so that we can begin to assign Evaluators as they become available.

If you are interested in getting your evaluation completed and have regular practice times and locations already scheduled could you please send them to myself, Kauri LaFontaine, (klafontaine@rugbycanada.ca) and I will create the schedule and correspond with you throughout this process. You will need to be evaluated in a practice not a competition setting.

PLEASE NOTE: if you have not uploaded your coaching diary or completing your Make Ethical Decisions evaluation you will not be added to the list, as this is required to be evaluated along with your practical portion. The Training and Education website has a template from World Rugby should you want to use that. If you have your own please ensure that you have a minimum of SIX practice plans and an EAP.”

2 Blues Members Played for Ontario vs Glendale

Ryan Surgenor and Patrick Lynott suited up for Ontario to play the professional side Glendale Raptors at the same time as our game vs the Wanderers. Surgenor left the game 23 minutes in due to a shoulder injury.
