Bytown Blues Update August 30th 2016

Playoff Games

Senior men are set to play for the Post-Season cup after 1st round byes due to their success during the season. The games should be Saturday September 10th at 1330 and 1500 at Twin Elm Rugby Park, but this will be confirmed next week. Before the 1XV game there will be a moment of silence and a few words said in the memory of Gerry “animal” Veit.

McCormick Cup Bound

The senior men repeat as Ottawa Representatives in the coveted McCormick Cup run. Our game will be played at Twin Elm Rugby Park on September 24th. So mark it in your calendars and be there! Last year London St George forfeited their match due to numbers, giving the Blues a 20-0 win, and then the Blues went down to lose against the Balmy Beach Rugby Club.

Ontario 12 – 10 Cork Constitution FC

After a grueling 80 minutes out at TERP the Ontario blues, injected with 3 blues players, took the close victory vs the Irish Touring team Cork Constitution. Bytown Blues member Ryan Surgenor started for the Ontario Blues while Patrick Lynott and John Shaw came off the bench to help secure the win.
