Bytown Blues update for June 2nd 2015

Hey all, rain ended up ruining the start time of our Men’s game but it still got off the ground.

Training times for this week:

Tuesday: Club Training

Canterbury High School:

U18: 18:00 – 20:00

Mens: 1830-2030

St Patrick’s High school:

U16: 17:30 – 19:30

Wednesday: Club Fitness (All Registered Club members are welcome)

Canterbury High School: 1830-1930

Thursday: Team Training

Canterbury High School:

U18: 18:00 – 20:00

Mens: 1830-2030

St Patrick’s High school:

U16: 17:30 – 19:30

U18s who are registered and want to experience senior men’s training are encouraged and welcome to join us at these times. Those on representative U18 and U19 sides are expected to be at training.


Big Win Against Quebec City 

Bytown Blues 1XV got their first official Super League win against QC on the weekend in a wet 12-6 win at Twin Elm. With Tries by Myles Dingwall and Teddy Taggart, with the conversion by Mason Dingwall.

Hard fought and played despite the intense weather.

Congratulations Blues!!!


Junior Season Starts Today (U16, U18)

For those who are already registered, thanks… For those who have not…
Awesome summer ahead for rugby, will be starting 7s this fall as well (details to be planned)…

U16 Practice:

Date:       Tuesday & Thursday
Time:       5:30 – 7:30 pm
Location:  St Pat’s HS

U18 Practice:

Season:  June 2 – Aug 30
Date:       Tuesday & Thursday
Time:       6:008:00 pm
Location  Canterbury HS
If you have registered in the last day or so, I may not have your registration from the web site. Please bring a copy of the confirmation page, or email, from website. (needed for me to give you the practice tee, or shorts) Returning player practice tees are in. New players get shorts and socks.
We have already planned games:
  • Balmy Beach on June 12/13 (back Saturday night by 10-11 pm)
  • Blackburn RFC U16 touring side
  • Oratory U18 touring side
  • Blues “End of school Rugbyfest” on June 27th…. (3 or 4 team tournament for U16 & U18 after minis).

This weeks Fixture is against the Ottawa Indians. 

A Team the Bytown Blues have not faced in over 4 years the Indians will be ready to play on Saturday. 2XV kicking off at 1330 and the 1XV are going at 15:00
