Bytown Blues Update for February 10th
Posted on:Welcome to the 2nd week of February. Off-season is rolling along smoothly and we are looking forward to the thawing of the snow. Training times for this week are as follows:
Juniors:
- Time: Saturday 18:00-20:00
- Location: Lees Campus Dome “200 Lees Avenue Ottawa Ont. K1S 5S9″
Senior Men: (10$ drop in fee)
- Time: Saturday 17:55-19:00
- Location: Lees Dome.
Club: CSAD Training (open to all club members)
- Time: Monday 18:00-19:00
- CSAD Gym: “Unit 1, 1665 Russell Rd, Ottawa, Ontario, K1G 4B8″
Some Important news on the Bytown Blues coaching side of things this week as there is an upcoming coaching course in Ottawa.
“All Blues coaches, and those interested in becoming a coach, you need to be certified to coach. The coaching courses have been renamed from Introduction to Competitive Rugby to World Rugby Level 2 certification. There is a coaching course scheduled for Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th. The location is “to be determined” but will be in Ottawa.
Please go online to rugby Canada, create an account for the coaching course. You will need to finish the online portion before registering for the course.
On a Old Boys Social side of things we have an upcoming event. Hope everyone can attend and make it a success.
“Blues Old Boys and Senior Men Touch Rugby at Ottawa U Dome followed by beer up at Celtic Cross (France vs Wales replay)
Saturday Feb 28th 6:00 – 8:00 pm
- Blues Old Boys (BOBs) and Senior Men Touch
- first 20 minutes will be flag rugby session for mini coaches
Saturday Feb 28th 8:00 – 10:00 pm
- back to Celtic Cross for pints and replay of Wales vs France 6 Nations match
- discuss BOBs team management and structure for 2015″
In Team selection news our own John Shaw has been selected to U20 Canada team that will attempt to qualify to the U20 JWT. He will be playing with Canada U20 against Romania later this month and in March against the US. If Canada wins the US two game series, they will go to Portugal for the Junior World Trophy in May. This biggest of congratulations going to John who does the Blues proud and hopfully his country proud as well.
