Weekend Update For May 24th

The kickoff to the 2014 regular season was this past Saturday and while it was delayed with a little thunder and lightning out at Twin Elm, the final results were worth the wait.

Both matches were one-sided and decidedly in our favour, with each match starting with early tries. By half time, both Blues squads had scored over 30 points and kept Beaconsfield off the scoreboard. The points continued in the second half with Blues substitutions getting in to the action and keeping the momentum going.

The final scores on the day were:

Blues 2nd XV 60, Beaconsfield 10 (HT 33-0)
Blues 1st XV 77, Beaconsfield 0 (HT 41-0)

Both squads are in Montreal for the next two weeks before returning with three consecutive matches in Ottawa during July. Training will be at Hillcrest HS in the buildup to this weekend.
