Bytown Juniors Set To Invade Toronto
Posted on:Looking forward to the weekend, two of the Blues Junior squads are set to take on one of the premier clubs in the province, while at the same time, taking in the spectacle of international rugby.
The Blues U16 and U18 teams will be traveling to Toronto on Friday, June 14th to take on Balmy Beach RFC’s respective junior teams. The matches will take place on Saturday morning at Balmy Beach’s practice facility. In the tradition of the game, Balmy Beach will be hosting a post-match barbeque.
In the evening, the teams will head to BMO Field to cheer on Canada as they take on Ireland. With more than 50 players signed up to attend the match, it is sure to be a good weekend.
For those attending, the final cheque will be due at this Tuesday at training. The total amount will be $140 per person (player and coaches), which does not include food. The final payment owed will be $140 less your deposit. This will cover coach bus to Toronto, local bus for transport, game ticket and hotel room.
A reminder that practices are held at Hillcrest High school. Junior U16s run from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, with the U18s going from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
All of the purchased tickets have been accounted for, so there are currently none left over.
Unless some of the players decide to back out.
An initial itinerary is as follows:
| Friday, June 14, 5:00pm | Leave from Perkins Restaurant (St Laurent & Coventry, across from St Laurent shopping mall). Please be there before 5 pm. |
| Saturday, June 15, 10:00am – 12:30pm | Play Balmy Beach U16 and U18 at their practice facility. BBQ and other activities after games at their club house. |
| Saturday, June 15, 8:00pm – 10:00pm | Canada vs. Ireland at BMO Field, will leave at end of game |
| Sunday, June 16, 2:30am – 3:30am | Arrive at Perkins Restaurant (pickup location) and will take the kids into restaurant, unless the parents are there |
