Ottawa’s Bytown Blues Rugby Club’s 3rd XV completed their season with a solid 48 – 14 Bowl Championship victory over a spirited Cornwall RFC side on Saturday at Twin Elm rugby park.

Through much of the season, the thirds were led by Jeremy Nesbitt in the backs and Satuday proved no different as the Algonquin College Thunder product sliced through the Cornwall backs and freed up fellow rookie, Mike Adibe for his patented sprints.

Dave Ferris, Tuffy Forberg, Rob Coren and Chris Bilbo Rivet were all extra solid in the match as was Pat Murray (recently returned from Boston) and Kyle Garland.

“We are building one of the top rugby clubs in Canada,” stated Bytown Blues Rugby Club President Curtis Crawford. “Having a strong third XV where young players can properly be introduced to men’s rugby is something that we are proud of. The Bytown Blues have a terrific mix of young men and cagey old veterans who play an exciting style of play. Many of this year’s u18s have proven that they will easily advance to our thirds next season. We are always on the lookout for experienced players and athletes looking to play Rugby – the world’s greatest game.”

The Blues 3rd XV had many notable matches this season and are proud to carry on the great Blues tradition of exciting rugby on the field and great camaraderie in the pub, both with the Blues and with great other sides this season like Brockville, Cornwall, UOV, St Jean, Westmount and Lanark.

Ottawa’s Bytown Blues Rugby Club is centrally located in Ottawa and placed over 30 players on regional, provincial and National sides in the past year.
