June 17th Fundraiser - Ottawa RedBlacks Game

On June 17, the Ottawa RedBlacks will host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at TD Place @ 7:30  pm. It is the RedBlacks home opener for the 2022 CFL season.

2022 is also the 50th Anniversary of the glorious Bytown Blues RFC. As part of the celebrations  commemorating this milestone for the club, your hosts for the event: Curtis “The Big Gorn”  Crawford and Craig “Doak” Walker cordially invite you to join us in an evening of football, food  and general frivolity.

We have secured the Stadium Lounge and Box at 1035 Bank Street (aka The Rideau). These  overlook the stadium and have an incredible view of the field. The purpose of the event is to  raise funds for a complete renovation and upgrade of the Blues Dressing Room at Twin Elm  Rugby Park, our ancestral home.

As any ex-player will tell you, the thing they miss the most is the guys in the dressing room.  Victories recounted, defeats rehashed, stories and speeches, lies and truths and that special  spent feeling of having gone to battle together. It was, and is, our unique refuge and  confessional. And its time we honoured it properly. We foresee not only a refreshed and  modern dressing room but also a shrine to the game and to the players that have graced its  presence over the many years. And we want to do it right.

In that regard we are setting a goal of raising $10,000 at this event. The game, the food and the  drink are free but the price of admission is a generous donation to the Dressing Room Fund.  Please note: The minimum donation is $150. In that regard we will set up a dedicated account  to receive payment.

The venue can accommodate maximum 50 people. Please RSVP one or all of the following;

Bytown Blues - bytowngooglegroups.com
Bob Shaw - boggyshaw@gmail.com
Curtis Crawford - curtisjcrawford55@gmail.com
Adrian Blackett - adrianblackett@yahoo.com
